Capabilities

Cloud &
Platform

Architecture that fits the mission.

Cloud architecture, infrastructure as code, and platform engineering. Start with the workload, make tradeoffs explicit, and build for reliable operations.

DevSecOps

Delivery with security built in.

CI/CD pipelines, automated checks, and controlled releases. Connect development, security, and operations through repeatable delivery practices.

Application Modernization

Move forward without losing continuity.

Application and dependency upgrades, integration, and incremental migration. Use testing, observability, and rollback planning to manage change.

Why KAASU

How we engineer

START WITH THE MISSION

Understand before choosing

Define the users, operating environment, constraints, and measures of success before selecting a tool. Architecture should make the mission easier to deliver and the system easier to operate.

01 / DEFINE

02 / DELIVER

Review → Build
Test → Secure
Release → Observe
MAKE DELIVERY REPEATABLE

Build security into the workflow

Treat infrastructure, configuration, and release controls as part of the product. Make changes reviewable, testable, and traceable so teams can improve without losing control.

DESIGN FOR OPERATIONS

Leave a system people can run

Plan for monitoring, recovery, documentation, and handover from the beginning. A successful delivery includes the knowledge needed to sustain it.

03 / SUSTAIN

Technical Insights

Tools. Techniques.
Tradeoffs.

01 / DEVSECOPS

A pipeline is more than a build script.

A passing build is only one signal. Useful delivery pipelines make artifact provenance, security checks, deployment permissions, and recovery visible.

Where to look first

Map the path from a commit to a running service. Identify manual handoffs, long feedback loops, and controls that exist only in a checklist. Improve one bottleneck at a time; adding more tools can increase the work without improving the result.

02 / CLOUD ARCHITECTURE

Multi-cloud needs a reason.

A second cloud introduces another operating model. The benefit should justify the extra identity, networking, deployment, and support work.

Start with the workload

Compare mission requirements, data movement, existing skills, recovery needs, and operating costs. Portability is a design choice with tradeoffs, not a benefit that appears automatically when multiple providers are used.

03 / PLATFORM ENGINEERING

Kubernetes is a tradeoff.

Orchestration can standardize deployment and scaling. It also creates a platform that needs ownership, upgrades, observability, and incident response.

Ask the operational question

Choose the simplest platform that meets the workload and organizational needs. Before adding a cluster, identify who will operate it, how failures will be diagnosed, and whether a managed application service would be sufficient.

04 / MODERNIZATION

Modernize in manageable steps.

A large rewrite concentrates risk. Smaller changes make behavior easier to compare and give teams more opportunities to learn before the next release.

Protect the path back

Establish tests around critical behavior, map dependencies, and define rollback conditions. Upgrade in increments, observe production behavior, and keep recovery practical. Modernization succeeds when users can continue to do their work.

About KAASU

Engineering with purpose

KAASU focuses on practical technology for mission-driven organizations: cloud platforms, secure software delivery, and application modernization.

About Us

We bring more than 13 years of engineering and technical leadership across enterprise, public-sector, and startup environments. Our background spans cloud architecture, DevSecOps, infrastructure as code, and the leadership of distributed engineering teams.

We combine hands-on work with AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform with experience guiding architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and coordinating delivery across engineering, security, and product teams.
